A COVID-19 Success story of

How we changed the way we buy bread through an E-Commerce website

Along with CurveUp: a consultancy firm focused on the local community, startup, SME empowerment,
how we built a successful online bakery store which did over 4 million in sales and continues.

The Brief

Given the modern web technology, It’s easy to set up an eCommerce website in less than a few hours.
However, building a customer-centric eCommerce website is challenging. Especially for a non-tech savvy market that would buy bakery items online.

Challenges

  • – Customers not knowing their internet speeds.
  • – Most potential buyers were females from the age of 40-60+
  • – The potential customers didn’t know to use debit./credit cards.
  • – The potential customers preferred the use of SMS for confirmation and bill than an email.
  • – Delivering fresh bakery items – pre-order
  • – Non-tech savvy customers

Our Approach

The team took their positions at the storyboard to design a process that placed emphasis on visualizations, memorability, empathy and engagement.

The development team put together a website that would allow a customer to purchase a bakery item in three simple steps, with a mobile phone SMS confirmation making the purchase process very simple.

Fuelled by increasing uncertainty over continuous lockdown and probable curfews, consumers found it easier to buy bread on Hasthigiri than anywhere else.

Sales didn’t show any signs of decline and continued to grow.

Consumers were prompted to purchase online as it made the process contactless and hence less exposure to the outside world.

This simple social experiment that resulted in not just avoid being filled but an essential as bread buying made easy goes to show just how technology adoptions are making life easy and business seamless for all.

Social Media Marketing

Establishing a consistent colour palette was the first step in achieving consistent visual branding across social media platforms.

Every image that was part of the same campaign should include similar colours to reinforce the brand experience.

This helps to grab the attention of viewers, engage them, and encourage recall of the brand. A consistent colour palette also helps to establish a unique brand persona and communicate with consistency across all social media channels.

Overall, a consistent colour palette is an important aspect of successful visual branding on social media, as it helps to create a cohesive and memorable brand experience for users.
